Encrypt Data Issue

Does SQL Server 2000 provide any data encryption/decryption functionality so that certain fields (e.g. SSN, Age and Salary) will be encrypted before writing into the table and decrypted once loading out of the table?

Using Encryption Methods
Encryption is a method for keeping sensitive information confidential by changing data into an unreadable form. Encryption ensures that data remains secure by keeping the information hidden from everyone, even if the encrypted data is viewed directly. Decryption is the process of changing encrypted data back into its original form so it can be viewed by authorized users.

Microsoft SQL Server encrypts or can encrypt:

Login and application role passwords stored in SQL Server.

Any data sent between the client and the server as network packets.

Stored procedure definitions.

User-defined function definitions.

View definitions.

Trigger definitions.

Default definitions.

Rule definitions.

Encription of a column

I need to replicate some Oracle functionality that allows
a text column to be encripted in the database and
decripted by a JSP web application. Anyone have any
suggestions on how to go about this? You can find several third party products that have encryption options
listed in the Encryption section of the faq at:

operations. It has been announced by Microsoft that SQL Server 2005 will
support encryption and key management. One article that reports on this
announcement can be found @.

Enabling automatic ClickThrough/ Drill Into for Report Builder Reports against a model

Hello - I am having difficulty enabling the automatic click-through functionality for my model. I have two entities - Customer & Incident. Incident is a role/FK/OptionalMany relationship to customer.

I've read through earlier postings on this subject (below) and have verified that the #Incidents attribute in my incident entity has the EnableDrillThrough=true.

My test report is simple - Customer Name (from customer) and #Incidents (from incident). When I run it, the click-through option is not available (the cursor stays as an arrow and doesn't change to a finger).

Are there other properties or settings that I need to be working with? I have SP2 (9.0.3042) installed on our Standard edition of SQL 2005. I know Infinite Click-Through is not in Std edition, but a few levels should be, correct?

Thanks in Advance,

Toni

I just installed my model on a machine with Reporting Services Enterprise edition and the click through is working.

I'll try to get verification from Microsoft on this difference in versions and will post back.
